SIGNING AUTHORITY – new signing Rob, Darcy & Pat – Walter will come off. Walter MAM, Doug 2nd. Carried.
BUDGET – proposed budget discussion-tabled till next month when we have year end figures.
INSURANCE – due Dec.16/11 – Pat called the company and we have coverage till the renewal arrives. Darcy MAM to pay the premium as soon as it arrives. Dave 2nd. Carried.
ADDICTION AWARENESS WEEK- Walter attended & was rewarding-he gave out 12 big books – approx. 40 meeting cards. Walter spoke at the college.
NEW BUSINESS
TREATMENT REPORT – Dave – has had good response with chair people & speakers.
GRAPEVINE REPORT – Darcy – will order new material soon.
PI/CPC REPORT – Doug – will need an advance to purchase literature from Sonny. Doug MAM for a cheque to District 4Literature for $1500.00 & a cheque for $170.00 for Big Book purchases. Pat 2nd carried. Doug asked about a key for the new meeting space at the Salvation Army – Walter will check into it, as well we will need a cabinet for literature. Doug will place an ad in the newspaper to run over Christmas.
NEW MEETING SPACE – Walter advised that NA meets at the Salvation Army on Thursday nights at 8:00pm. Rob MAM to hold district meetings the second Wednesday of the month at 6:15pm, at the Salvation Army (soup kitchen) beginning Wed. Jan. 11, 2012 at 6:15pm.2nd by Pat carried.
Web Site – now displays district minutes – & has a new format. Encourage our group members to view the site. www.grandeprairieaa.com. Has a link where members can download meeting lists. Also, encourage members to submit stories, jokes etc.
NEW GROUP is being proposed by Bonnie & Heather that would start at 7:00pm, perhaps on Tue. Night. Please announce at your groups & anyone interested contact Bonnie or Heather. A discussion about whether to start a new meeting when some groups are struggling with low attendance.
DRY EVENTS – Gerry advised a meeting on Wed. Dec. 14 at 6:30pm at his house-all welcome. The committee will meet with Sat. night group about chairing the meeting on New Years Eve. The committee needs new members- Gerry would like to step down. Curling is in the planning. Have approximately $1200.00. Rob advised the committee to let him (DCM) know of event dates so that the insurance company can be advised. A question was asked if the committee ever contributed to AA – no. A discussion followed about needing a reserve to operate, as has been very low of funds & has come out of members purses.
GROUP REPORTS
MONDAY NIGHT – Gerry/Bonnie – will host a Christmas fellowship time Dec. 19 between 7pm & 8pm – Goodies supplied. No birthdays in Dec. will postpone till Jan. when there will be 8 birthdays. Lowest membership in some time – 8. Six attended the business meeting. Have 1 new member – Don is the new treasurer.
SATURDAY NIGHT – Rob – Charlotte is the new GSR. Have designated $250.00 to the district towards insurance. Good finances, and good attendance.
SUNDAY NIGHT – Dwight – will hold their regular meeting on the 25th of Dec. Attendance is down-less center clients – about 20 members with 4 or 5 attending regularly or chairing meetings. Dec. birthdays postponed till Jan.
CLAIRMONT – Doug – attendance down – need members – have 11 – good dedicated core group. Will be contributing to district etc. as well as towards insurance.
WOMEN’S GROUP – Darcy – Jackie’s 34 birthday was well attended – many from the center. Holding a women’s fellowship time. Have new members – this group announces at the beginning of the meeting if a new woman has joined the group and is welcomed.
WEDSNDAY NIGHT - Victor – 20 members – good attendance – a treasurer was elected. Have made a large contribution and have readjusted the prudent reserve. Renovations are finished. NAC clients attendance varies.
24/7 Group – Dave is the new GSR – 6 active – new member – sound finances-just made contributions. The group has subscribed to the grapevine for NAC & plan to do so each year.
FRIDAY NIGHT SEXSMITH – discussion – wondering how it is doing – Pat will contact Brian F. for information.
WEDNSDAY NIGHT UNITED CHURCH GROUP – needs people to attend.
