MINUTES- from Oct. 13, 2011 – read by Pat. An error-Saturday night report should read – The group supported the churches application for an elevator. Area 78 has a motion that all area events require wheel chair accessibility. Another error – Walter is W. not S. Pat MAM to adopt the minutes, 2nd by Cheryl, carried.
TREASURER REPORT – Darcy – see attached – Balance $2,814.75. Also attached is a report of group contributions, year to date. Darcy MAM to adopt her report, Pat 2nd, carried.
OLD BUSINESS
Addiction Awareness Nov. 15th, 12:00 to 4:00pm – at the old bingo hall on 105 St. & 98 Ave. Walter will attend-Cassandra has provided a display board-Walter asked Doug for Big Books and literature-all AA’s are encouraged to attend. Nov. 16 Walter is speaking at the college for addiction week.
NEW BUSINESS
TELEPHONES – Cheryl reported she has changed the volunteers for Nov. & Dec.-she called six members and six said “Yes.”
PI/CPC – Doug reported he will order literature before the end of the year. Pat will update the list of volunteers & send to Doug. Doug MAM to be reimbursed for $74.84 for printing & stamp. Pat 2nd, carried.
GRAPEVINEW – no report
WEB SITE – Rob reported the new format is up and running and is easy to update it. There are pictures of Grande Prairie, Clairmont & Sexmsmith. He will add other centers. The minutes are on the site, news & events. Please let your groups know about the web site www.grandeprairieaa.com There have been 1500 hits this year.
TREATMENT – Dave absent – Walter reported the committee meeting was attended by Walter & Dave. A few names have been dropped from the list of volunteers – if they are a no show twice, the name is dropped.

Next district meeting is December 8th at 6:30 at the Friendship Center – hopefully new GSR’s & those not here tonight will attend and the vacant positions can be filled.
INSURANCE – will be due December approximately $825.00.
RENT – Pat MAM to pay the rent for 2010 & 2011 – $200.00 to the Friendship Center.2nd by Cassandra – carried. Walter will return the key & give them the cheque after the Dec. meeting.
MEETING LOCATION – Doug MAM to move our district meetings to the Salvation Army in January 2012. Rob 2nd carried. The Salvation Army has a room used only for AA and are very welcoming – our committee meetings can be held there – there is room for the PI/CPC literature as well. Discussion followed about how positive an AA space will be for our district, and the need of perhaps an Alano Club.
ROUND UP – The committee will be asked to attend District meetings periodically in order that GSR’s can communicate to our groups-would hopefully spark participation on the round up committee. Was a general agreement that round up meetings need to be announced and there needs to be better communication. Next round up meeting November 16, 6:30 at the United Church. Apparently Fay is the new chairperson of the round up.
DRY EVENTS – will be asked to attend District meetings periodically, for the same reasons. Hear there is talk of a New Years Eve party.
GROUP REPORTS
CLAIRMONT – Doug reported good attendance with newcomers.
24/7 – Cassandra (alternate GSR) reported they held elections and six positions were filled. Meetings are attended by between 12-20.
SATURDAY NIGHT – Rob reported good attendance. 20+ with core members. They had an incident where an inebriated person entered the building when a female member was alone – they are encouraging members to be aware of security and not open or close alone.
WOMENS GROUP – Darcy reported they have a new GSR. Have some issues with intoxication at meetings. Esther celebrated 20 year – very well attended. Jackie V. will celebrate 34 years Dec. 5th.
MONDAY-FRIDAY – 7AM – Walter reported small attendance-going well. In December they will start a Big Book study – working the steps.
